Good article. Recognition of a Palestinian state would be good for both Israel and Palestine; it would be obvious if sovereignty were to be violated. In the 19th century, the U.S. and Mexico were trapped in a cycle of illegal Anglo-American settlements (Texas & California), repeated cross-border military incursions by both countries, and destabilizing (though from their point of view justified ) Native American wars.
