This is happening at the right time. The tents have ceased to be effective forms of protest, in part because thpose living in them are no longer representatives of the middle class and regular students and families, whose presence made the movement so poignant at first. As someone who lives across the street from one of the encampments, it has become clear that they are mostly populated by the protesting class, who are using at more as a lifestyle than a means of protest. That coupled with the disruption of neighborhoods for those working and paying rent there make this a solid move.
