Five Easy Pieces 1) The significance of Israel was introduced, defined, and given meaning from the Torah. 2) Without the Bibles account, there would be no difference between Israel and any other real estate. 3) The legitimacy of the Torah is self-contained, it itself claims to be the word of G-d, eternal, and unchangeable. 4) There is no concept of a conservative or reform structure in the Torah, all Jews are Jews if their mother is Jewish, and all Jews are created equal. 5) If a Jew chooses not to observe the commandments, thats their right and their prerogative. But to tell other Jews that a non-observant life is respectable - is NOT condoned in the Torah. Since the Torah defines Jews and Judaism and Israel, one cannot contradict the Torah and still call it Judaism!
