...Roughly 5 years ago Chabad showed up on my college campus and everything changed for the worse. The Rabbi began showing up to our Hillel events and disrespecting our programming and telling students that we weren't "authentic judaism" and that if students were ready to see real Jewish people they should go to the shabbat dinners at the Chabad House. Hillel had been on our campus for 35+ years being the oldest continually active club, and Chabad came and pretended that we simply didn't exist. They would take credit for our events, and the rabbi was suddenly seen as the spokesperson for the Jewish students...he surely didn't represent the 120+ year old Jewish community present in the town and he surely didn't represent the Jewish students. Chabad houses are like the petting zoos of judaism. Students, at their convenience, step inside to get a an artificially created lubavitch shabbat. there is no value, it is merely the offering before the students agreement to "convert"
