The hillel at my university are a bunch of overpaid, lazy know-nothings who just coast on their salaries while I'm working my a** off as a volunteer balancing bioinformatics with SJP. I was hard at work trying to get a pro-BDS measure at my school over Spring Break along with the rest of my group while those louts in Hillel, most of whom got their positions through connections engineered by their parents, were at their summer homes. I missed Holi, my major holiday, b/c they pushed a debate back and you didn't see me b&m. The people who campaign for Israel around here are privileged brats and it shows! And you have the nerve to give them an excuse? In the words of Catherine Tate, I ain't even bovvered! The Israel you have in mind is an Israel that is built at the expense of a population whom for all intents, definitions, and purposes are natives. The actual historical Israel was confined to Judea and Samaria, with the Philistines (فلسطين‎ Filistin), Samaritans, Arabs, Phoenicians and Canaanites (ancestors of today's Palestinians along with converted Jews) inhabiting what makes up the present day Israel. And also this idea that you have to have hegemony over some territory to not be mistreated is BS. Muslims have hegemony over loads of territory with lots of natural resouces and things are getting worse for them in Europe and North America.

Operation octogenarian

In 1969, veterans of the Haganah, Irgun and WWII were asked to help defend the northern communities. The media described a giant success, but archives show they were mostly asked to help with the harvest.
