Ariel Sharon had a plan.It was seperation from the Arabs but with a choice. The choice was the Palestinians choice. They could live in peace or live in war but we are splitting from them.In effect he was giving them a sample to see if they would be interested in buying the goods. This is reactionary tactics but it was ok and only ok with Sharon at the helm. His reaction would have been right. He strong enough to set the terms and follow it through to war or peace. Olmert is holding the middle or maybe the middle is holding him.Olmert cannot think and feel Sharons confidence in his plan. Olmert was trying to live Sharon's soul.It doesnt work because the painting that was going to be brought to life by the master needs that spark. It wasnt Olmerts gig. So what now are the choices.Good idea by Gideon Levy.He wants the genuine left in and he knows that Peretz and Peres have sold out so bring on Lieberman.Good Machiavellian strategy. Its a shame though, the third way held so much promise.
