It is good that peres qualified the type of democracy he was talking about as "Israeli" style democracy. This is a type of democracy practiced only in Israel. With Israeli style democracy the rule of the majority is meant to be permanent with any changes being only cosmetic. This is why a "Leftist" like barak can join an extreme right wing government. The differences between the extrem right and the leftists in Israel is very small indeed. In fact, you have to be Israeli to see any difference at all. The Democracy in Israel is meant for Jews only. They hold the permanent majority and have made laws to keep it that way. They also make laws as they go to punish and harrass their political enemies and Arabs. This is Israeli style democracy. The probe of leftist NGO's is what we expect from israeli democracy.
