Abbas is not a legitimate leader in any sense. When Israel jailed the elected government of the Palestinians, Abbas appointed "temporary" ministers, as is his duty. They are only supposed to serve while a new election is called and the will of the people heard. By conspiring with Israel to avoid an election Abbas makes himself completely illegitimate. Any "agreement" in which he plays a part can and will be repudiated beacuse of this. This sort of activity on Israels part makes it more obvious than ever, who are the good guys and who are the bad guys in this struggle.
