When a bad situation drags on for years with no sign of improvement, and then all of a sudden it unravels, the question immediately comes to mind: What brought about this sudden change to the better. Does it have anything to do with the current attempt to revive the peace talks, which in turn resulted from Abbas putting the gun to everybody’s head by going to the UN? No matter. The most important thing for the moment is that this happy event has come to pass and we should rejoice. And if it is a portent of a peace deal in the making, then you won’t hear me complaining.
