I'm a Jewish Berkeley Alum, and it was an environment like this that kept me away from Jewish activities on campus. To current liberal Jewish Berkeley students, I say this: it gets better. You may feel isolated as a liberal Jew at Berkeley, but there are liberal Jewish congregations out there, places where faith does not mean nationalism.
