This is an issue about money not free press fact is for a variety of reasons like internet and the free newspaper Israel Hayom and the other Yehidiot, Haaretz Maarive was losing money and so IDB decided they didn't want to keep throwing good money after bad, they want to make a profit. Same with Channel 10, it was losing money, had mounting debts it couldn't pay and so the solution was dump it because once again its owners are in it to make a profit not provide entertainment. We don't live in a socialist country anymore now its sink or swim. Before tv radio & newspapers were what everybody turned to for the news. When tv came along pople started chosing tv as their forst choice for news and entertainment, when cable & satellite came along public broadcasting was hit hardest. Now in an age of internet and tablet computers printed media are the ones who are going to suffer most, not an end to press freedom just a change to how we find out the news. We have to change our lives as technology changes and we can't turn back the clock because we don't like the future, its not about press freedom its about MONEY. With Channel 10 it was losing money, it had mounting debts it could not pay so the owners decided they wanted to pull the plug because at the end of the day the real reason Channel 10 exists is to make money for iits owers not provide entertaintment to its fans. Channel 10 has to compete with public tv, HOT & YES with all their many offerings, internet, radio ... sink or swim
