    1. Iran has an existential threat from the USA/ Israel who routinely threaten Iran. Iran is surrounded by US bases. It has had Western interference in its affairs for ages- including the CIA and Britain overthrowing the democratically elected Government in a coup in 1953. 2. When you say 'the world thinks they're lairs' - how can you speak for 6 billion people? You obviously can't. In fact I could just as easily say that the world thinks Israel are liars. 3. Mossad chiefs have said Israel is not under an existential threat from Iran. http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4172169,00.html http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/151221 as has Barak http://www.haaretz.com/news/report-barak-says-iran-is-not-existential-threat-to-israel-1.7710 3. 'First several wars were not of its choosing' - not true. Take the '67 war. Israel deliberately provoked border incidents in order to go to war and annex more territory.

Why we don't know how to pick our leaders

Our craving for ideology means that we are partial to ideological leaders. But we need leaders who will make smart decisions that are aligned with the public interest.
