Correction: The fact is that Iran has every right to develop nuclear power. The fact is Israel is far too small to defeat Iran (without destroying itself and much of the Middle East in the process). The fact is the Americans cannot literally afford another war and can't defeat Iran anyway without destroying most of the Middle East including Israel. The fact is world opinion is on Iran's side and any attack by Israel (as Cameron knows) will bring down public wrath, not on Iran, but on Israel and any of its supporters. The fact is that Israel will never have enough power in the region to keep itself safe and the only way the safety of the Israeli state can be assured is by winning back the support of world opinion. And the only way to do that is by ending the occupation either by creating one secular state with equal rights for all or by Israel negotiating final and legitimate borders for itself which allows a contiguous and completely autonomous Palestine. Everything else, including a war against Iran will lead to the destruction of the Israeli State - or as the Iranian's said, 'its passing from the pages of history.'

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin, February 16, 2016.

If Merkel also criticizes Israel, life is not a piece of cremeschnitte

The Israeli reaction to Der Spiegel's report on the German chancellor's frustration with Netanyahu was ridiculous, even Orwellian; as if Israelis were aliens who had just landed from another planet.

Hundreds killed in Aleppo foretell a major political achievement for Assad

The fighting highlights how Russia is winning at the West's expense, and underscores the paradox in which the West (together with Russia) focuses on ISIS while Assad regime continues to kill Syrian civilians in much greater numbers.

Elie Wiesel.

Newly unearthed version of Elie Wiesel's seminal work is a scathing indictment of God

In Wiesel’s uncensored Hebrew 'Night' manuscript, unveiled here for the first time, the author expresses desire to take revenge on the Hungarians, lashes out at fellow Jews and describes sexual scenes from the train to Auschwitz.
