Netanyahu is encouraged by the fact that some of his critics are starting to cast doubt on the deal, and even to echo his arguments against it.17:39 30.07.15 | 0 comments
Israels governments always have two main goals, shared by every government over the past three decades. They must (1) avoid peace. (2) Appear to support and desire peace. There are lots of different strategies to accomplish this, but one of the most common is political infighting during a push for peace talks. Netanyahu and Barak have been doing this a long time and they know how to reach their goal. Lieberman is relatively new at it, but he seems to be a natural and has the potential to be one of the best ever. For those Israel watchers among us, it is just the usual Punch and Judy show with the usual outcome. It is meant to pass the time while lowering the peace expectations of the west.
