I think that Gideon Levy was far to broad in his assertion that Israelis don't want a just peace. Certainly there are Israelis who would cheerfully eradicate the Palestinians and take their land, but they are few. Certainly there are Israelis who would retain the older and more settled 'blocks", for reasons of political stability and retention of capital expended developing them. There are even Israelis who favor returning to the pre-1067 borders in exchange for peace. But as far as I can see the dominant position of Israelis is best described by Jane when she said "Israelis Want A Safe Peace." It is clear that there are on both sides people who will never accept peace. It is also clear that the vast majority desire peace. Where to draw the line?
