Every Israeli should visit the West Bank and talk with Palestinians. They will find that the average Palestinian is not anti-Israeli. The average Palestinian is simply trying to survive in an economy that has been depressed by the occupation while being insulted and assaulted by zealous settlers. The IDF enables the settlers to continue their excesses. I have talked with settlers and have heard repeated acrimonious comments about the Palestinians. I have seen settler children attack Palestinian children while the IDF ignored these attacks. I have seen videos of settlers terrorize Bedouin shepards and have talked with those settlers, and the IDF has done nothing. Until the settlers are brought under control and are forced to live by the rule of law, there will not be peace. The settlers are a catalyst of violence. How long can Israel afford to keep an armed force committed to protecting people that incite the very conditions that then threaten them?
