I dont care about a murderer or his grieving father, he brought his troubles on himself when he committed murder in Israeli prisons though Its not a love of weapons that caused this, prison guards need to be armed but the real issue I think is what weapons should guards carry. Personally I think they should have non lethal weapons because 99% of violent acts can be dealt with using non lethal means. There should most certainly be weapons on site but locked away unless needed. Give the guard a taser, a barton and CS gas and he can deal with all violence just about and he is in constant radio contact with his colleagues anyway so easy to call for help and the whole prison can probably be locked down by the flick of a switch in the office. The other criticism I have with Israeli jails is they don't seem to have anat kind of cellphone jamming equipment, constantly read about how terrorists smuggled in cellphones but if there was jamming equipment those cellphones wouldn't work its not like the staff need their cellphones to communicate with the outside world if there is a landline.
