Palestinians simply see no difference in a Palestinian pulling out an AK-47 and intentionally shooting an Israeli man and wounding his wife and child and an Israeli attack on someone who is resisting arrest or is killed in the course of Israel responding to rocket fire. They don't get past primitive communal violence: you got one of ours and we'll get one of yours. Circumstances, volition, intent, premeditation, defense all those concepts as to whether or not someone has committed murder just go out the window for them and their supporters. Palestinian prisoners who killed an Israeli with malice aforethought is simply a participant in communal violence, and by their thinking, why not free them because they are no more guilty than an Israeli soldier that kills a Palestinian that is shooting at him. Funny how Palestinian supporters are quick to say that settlements violate International Law and slow to recognize that Palestinian treatment of Jewish civilians violates International Law. Of course, since they are willing to shrug at simple, intentional, traditional murder if the victim is Israeli, why worry about niceties of International Law if it's only being violated by Palestinians?
