The arrogant Netanyahu may have put it this way to Obama: America would be forced to intercede on Israel's behalf no matter what Obama said or did. There may be a grain of truth in this, but it will risk the inevitable collision of America and Israeli interests which will see some future president going to the American people and condemning Israel's policies and tactics in regard to American support. This will certainly happen one day although it is unlikely with a dyed in the wool weakling such as Obama.
