I am sure that not every Israeli is obsessed with settlement expansion, but Israel as a nation certainly is. For years now it has been impossible to browse Israeli media on any given day and not see an article concerning settlement expansion, either the approval of, the speed of, the lack of, or some other characteristic. This constitutes an obsession. Nobody is more obsessed with settlement expansion than the Israeli government. All kinds of Israeli governments, right, left, and center, and now ultra-right, have all embraced and supported settlement expansion. We see this scene of the Palestinians condemning a particular "approval" from Israel to build more units in the settlements many times before. We have seen America's lament that it is "not helpful to peace efforts", over and over again. Israel has never been put off by these words. Cracking an obsession takes more than mere words. Now Israel is saying things like A terrorist attack! 500 more units! What is next? Rainy day! 300 more units! My advice to Israel: everybody knows the drill by now. Forget the fakery and the charade and the linking of settlement expansion to this or that. It lacks honesty and what's worse, it lacks dignity.

Why this liberal Zionist now supports BDS

Calling the occupation 'unsustainable' is how liberal Zionists ease their conscience and excuse their timidity, by telling themselves it can’t last. But it will last – unless we start acting more like radicals.
