It is convenient to have unlimited military, financial, and political support from America. It is convenient, but it is not absolutely necessary. Lot's of nations, far weaker and less developed than Israel do fine without this sort of support from America or anyone else. During the course of the 2006 war, Israel dumped their entire inventory of cluster bombs on Lebanon and applied to America for an "emergency resupply". Israel got this resupply and dumped them all over south Lebanon in the final day before the cease fire took effect. These unexploded cluster bombs have killed more than thirty people since the war ended, mostly children and UN bomb disposal crewmen. This is Israel in a nutshell. This is Israels relatinship in America condensed into a few paragraphs. It is not only unnecessary, it is criminal. If Israel had to depend on it's own wits and it's own resources, Israels behavior would certainly get much better. This is what the goal should be. Not eternal dependence on emergency resupplies of murder devices.
