To Derek, I think your opinion remains just that, your own. Please don't group the whole of the English public as being supporters of disproportionate state-terror as is being conducted in Lebanon by Israel at the moment. The British public are not supportive of Israel's actions and even though they acknowledge that the trigger was Hezbollah's abduction of the two soldiers, they condemn the brutal response. The one thing that the media is showing clearly is that Israel is targetting the civilians and civilian infrastructue. So no, the 'English' as you put it don't support this act of state terrorism and no we won't cheer till they reach Damascus either. This whole situation needs to stop immediately and the US needs to step in and halt this and not keep vetoeing every UN resolution on the grounds of 'self-defense'.
