Speaking in southern Israel, the previous Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. says Obama won't be 'cop of the world,' unwilling tot use military force.00:19 29.11.15 | 0 comments
Yes, it is a well written article, but here's another interesting article entitled "Israel's Borders and National Security": www.stratfor.com/weekly/20110530-israels-borders-and-national-security . In the end, Israel's borders shall be no just what Israel will be able to defend (which matters !), but what overwhelming other countries will accept. Recognition coming from and by other states is what matters, even more than UN resolutions. IMO President Obama, while with good intentions (I am convinced he genuinely cares about Israel !) should not have made any reference to borders, and Prime Minister Netanyahu should not have reacted ... with so much passion. Israelis put their lives at risk, true, but, like it or not, it is the US which pays a large portion of the bill, and it is the American People, regardless or party orientation which, since 1967 supports Israel on all fronts. Israeli Jews are, indeed, not occupiers in Judea and Samaria - they are there as a result of a war of aggression waged against them, not by them, but there is a reality on the ground, The Palestinians ! They are there, they exist ! In a better world a one-state solution for all to live together in peace should have been the solution (as a united India should have been for what we are now referring as Indians and Pakistanis). In the real world, Jews want, need, and deserve a country of their own, and so do Palestinians. Mr Netanyahu and Mr Arens, here is what you can do, just by yourself NOW, without waiting for the other side, because it only depends on yourself: Stop planting Jewish settlements into those disputed territories. Why ? So that Israel does not continue on its downhill path towards delegitimization in the eyes of the world. YOU need more of The World to continue to look with sympathy, not just the US.
