    What has been magically lost - and what led to Golda Meier's rapid demise in politics - is that Meier knew there was an imminent Arab attack. Meier pleaded with Kissinger to release weapons shipments. But the topper was Israel threatened to shoot down Russian planes and bomb Russian ships coming into Syria. If you are going to die anyway, go out fighting - with the blood of King David coursing through your veins. Kissinger capitulated and F4 phantoms, A4 Skyhawks and material came pouring into Israel.
