Look at all the years of "peace" between the USA and the USSR: no atomic attack, no attack of any kind except "proxy" wars involving other countries. Even Adolf Hitler drew a limit on use of weapons such as poison gas attacks, say on London, for fear of retaliation. Is there any Ayatollah crazier than Hitler? I doubt Israel is under any serious threat of nuclear attack from a nuclear Iran. What Israel would lose is the advantage of being nuclear against a non-nuclear power, and it would certainly have to change the way it operates. Israel's real danger is loss of world support if it unleashes economic chaos on the world by starting a war in the oil fields that could soon escalate out of control. It is not really known how Iran would react to an attack and how far it would go. Is Israel willing to take the risk of bringing chaos on the world and losing its support as a result? Are Israeli politicians so blinded by their own propaganda that they'd destroy their own country?
