I am Portuguese and I had a kind of pro-palestinian inclination and bias in my opinion on this matter before I visited Israel and parts of the Palestinian entity this summer. Honestly I feel much more identified with the Israelis now than with the other part. I could walk freely near the Wailing Wall, respecting and being respected, without nobody asking me who I was. Trying to go to the muslim Jerusalem old city part was a nightmare, only in certain hours, only if I were a muslim. When I asked how they could tell weather I was one, besides some strange superior laughs, I was warned I would be asked questions on the Qoran before being let in. Also, its amazing how a place sacred for three religions as the Golden Rock Dome has forbidden entrance to everyone but muslims, with the same entry chriteria. Arabs and Palestinians living on this land should be less suspicious and learn to respect other religions, because its not just the jewsh they dont respect, but everything that is different, and must, in their view, be violently fought, instead of tolerated. Israel has the right to exist and to defend itself. There should be also a Palestinian state, but Jordan and Egypt should recognize they should have done their part when they had the opportunity to allow so.
