It is not irrelevant that Israel has not adhered to the Chemical Weapons Convention (as Egypt and Syria have not), or, if we start a conversation on weapons of mass destruction, the Biological Weapons Convention, and of course not the NPT. if use of these weapons is illegitimate, so is possession--and Israel has them all. Arguably the Egyptian and Syrian chemical weapons are a cheap way of responding to Israel's nuclear ones, so if we want to untangle the WMD web in the Middle East, including Iran, we have to put Israel's nuclear weapons on the table.
