Assad has chemical weapons and we don't know what Assad might try when his back is to the wall in the hope he can come out of it an arab hero, the man is not thinking straight. He could be replaced by a radical Islamic regime who want war with Israel, Hezbollah or Al Quaida could carry our a coup and then we will have chemical weapons in terrorist hands which is a threat not just to Israel but the whole world. Subs can sin his ships before they even get to sea. The IAF has managed to infiltrate Syrian airspace before so we can go bomb all the military sites we consider strategically important for Israel's security. No use of ground troops other than to defend the border Once we start the war Erdogan will almost certainly want to get involved and possibly NATO troops, allowing Israel to make an exist. We say its a humanitarian operation because we don't want to see Assad killing people anymore but reality is we are going in to destroy Assad's weapons which will benefit the rebels anyway.
