In the 70s the British unions were all powerful and constantly striking about something bringing the whole country to a standstill at one point even grave diggers would go on strike and then came Thatcher and she smashed the power of the unions and today they strike when there is good reason to strike only and when one union strikes others don't join in and bring the country to a standstill. .. if there is a problem with schools teachers will strike the airports and trains will keep running. Here the Histadrut is a remanent from the era when Israel was a socialist state. I have no problem with the idea of having a union but it must not have the kind of power the Histadrut does because a modern market economy cannot function if there are constantly strikes which bring the entire country to a standstill so come on with all the politicians we have in this country somebody must have the will to be Israel's Thatcher for the good of the majority.
