Not because it would meaningfully delay Iran's acquisition to develop nuclear weapons. Still less because such a strike would weaken the current government of Iran or deter it from pursuing the development of nuclear weapons. Fairly obviously, a strike would have the contrary effect. Israel will strike because it will embroil the region in conflict and lead to an increase in attacks on Israel. Israel doesn't put it to herself quite like this, but she needs war, and she needs conflict. It is peace that she fears.
