Yet it will not agree to any peace moves by anyone, which involves troops in Gaza as a buffer force. Why not? I can only surmise that Israel does not wish to see a successful economic viable Gaza (See the destruction today as proof of this), with Gazans having a quantifiable stake and thus leverage over the militants. Why is this? I have come to the conclusion that most Israelis are aware that perpetual war with Palestinians termed in the same language as the war against Al Qaeda is necessary to ensure continual funding by the United States. Without this funding Israel would struggle economically and the Politicians would find it increasingly difficult to line their own pockets.
