I don’t see much alternative for the Palestinians, but to go to the UN. The USA and Israel have played a purposeful delay game for decades while Israel confiscates more and more land and resources, and oppresses the Palestinians more and more. The USA is obviously not a fair arbiter - just compare the pro-Israel lobby to the pro-Palestinian lobby (is there one?), or the number of Zionists in congress, and it’s no surprise. And for Israeli politicians and settlers there is always some excuse, often violence or “terrorism”. Look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli%E2%80%93Palestinian_conflict. Here are the number of civilian deaths per year for Israelis (I) and Palestinians (P). <2011: I=16, P=20>, <2010: I=8, P=81 >, <2009: I=9, P=1034>, <2009: I=35, P=887>, etc. Wow. Look at the data, instead of opinions. The Palestinians might be able to claim that violence against them is a reason, but not the Israelis. Nine Israeli deaths in 2009, 8 deaths in 2010, 16 deaths in 2011. In 2009 there were 370 deaths in Israel from car accidents (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_traffic-related_death_rate).
