The relationship between Israeli and diaspora jews is changing that's all. There was a time when diaspora jews had to support the "poor" side of the family which lived in Israel.Moral, financial support was a one way street and that has changed. More and more, diaspora jews are and will be relying on Israel. This shift in reliance is what brings about a change in the relationship. It's all the same family, Dad isn't supporting avi as much as he used to, and avi is seeing that he'll be supporting dad in the future. We'll get used to the new dynamic and evolve as we always do.
