This is a very strange story. We don't hear about other arrestees or killed Palestinians in the bodyguard arrest action, only of the man himself. Was it essential to send a team into Ramallah to execute the arrest? NO: 1. Israel is refraining now from such action, as reported. 2. Ramallah is especially sensitive because it is the Seat of Government, and every Israeli incursion there is an insult to Abbas. 3. As bodyguard, the man goes with Qureia thru many roadblocks etc, meeting many Israeli soldiers, and could have been safely arrested on such an occasion. Why did Israel overcome all these consideration? My guess is that Israel is wishing to demonstrate that the Palestinians have not yet fulfilled their obligations under the Roadmap to fight terror. This allows Israel to be slow too in fulfillment of its own obligations, such as removing the illegal outposts.
