Ervin 'Swifty' Schindler was busted in the Azores while attempting to deliver the fourth of the B-17 bombers he had purchased for Israel. The three that were delivered served through the Sinai Campaign of 1956. They bombed Cairo. . . . The world, including the USA, Canada, and Portugal had embargoed arms shipments to Palestine. Still, Palestinian Jews, Israelis, had conspired to import not only arms and munitions, but an arms industry. The curious thing is that Israel has forgotten about it''s history. It has forgotten how it came to do what it had to, with little support, to survive. Israel now thinks it is dealing with idiots who are not capable of showing the same initiative, intelligence, and perseverance that Palestinian Jews did when they had their backs up against the wall,- when they had to survive by pluck and wit. Israel chose to destroy Abbas and the PA in order to prevent an outbreak of Settlement Stopping Peace. Now Israel will have to, once again, deal with Palestinians who prefer war to peace. When confronted with Palestinians who waged peace instead of war, Israel chose to destroy those who sought peace. Now Israel will have to deal with people who KNOW that there is no hope for a peaceful solution to the Israeli desire for all of Judea and Samaria. Israel chose what will happen. The Palestinians are not cowards, fools or butchers. They are people who have been told it is either fight or die. And like the Israelis of 1948, they will fight rather than die.

Head of J Street Israel refuses to take the blame for lack of peace

Yael Patir, Israel director of the left-leaning U.S. Jewish body, sat down with Haaretz to talk about Trump, the gap between U.S. and Israeli Jews, and the growing anger at the Israeli peace camp. Though she concedes boycott efforts by some on the left have a negative effect, she rejects calls to keep peace efforts local.
