because the Palestinians refused in 1948 and still refuse today to accept the main tenet of the partition plan: division of the former British Mandate into a Jewish state alongside an Arab one, which would have provided a framework for self determination for both peoples. It is surrounded by neighbors many times its size that have repeatedly attacked it, bombed it and threatened to wipe it off the map or drown it's people in the sea. With all due respect to the Asian Americans I would recommend that they study their own history and see how Asian American citizens of Japanese descent were treated after one bombing attack and less than ONE year of war with a country thousands of miles away that was not an existential threat to US. (The US by the way apologized to Japanese Americans 46 after the END of the conflict). It also killed hundreds of thousands of innocent Asian men, women and children when it nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In addition it killed hundreds of thousands of civilians in Vietnam, Laos and Cabodia during those wars, none of which ever threatened its existence. Most recently the US has kidnapped hundreds, maybe even thousands of foreign citizens, tortured them, and has held them without trial or bail for over 10 years, and continues to hold them even after it has officially ended its involvement in Iraq.It killed many civilians in Iraq, and continues to kill them with its drone strikes in Pakistan and Yemen, including some who are US citizens. Blacks in the US were still being beaten, lynched, and denied the vote in the 60's -one hundred years after the end of the civil are. In comparison, especially considering the circumstances, Israel behaves pretty well.

For French teen studying in Israel, it's all about being a Jew among Jews

Arrivals / Departures: Anti-Semitism in France is certainly not the reason why this teen chose to come to Israel; an Israeli whose relatives perished in the Holocaust finds living in Berlin 'perfectly fine.'
