Attribute our low amth and science to the silly science curriculum and the not much better math curriculum foisted upon us by the Misrad HaChinook. Jr high students basically waste their time learning very little and then in high school must cram for their bagruts. In math there is a complete over-emphasis on geometrical proofs (practically 2 years of it when two months is enough)at the expense of better coverage of statistics (including ANOVA), numerical methods, and data handling (regression of all kinds, for example). Also over-emphasized is calculus for 3-pt math. What the heck for? Ask any manager of a high tech company and they will tell you we need these latter subjects. YEsh atid are u listening? We need a wholesale overhaul of the math and science surriculum for a high tech country like Israel.
