No Israeli, whatever the political stripe, can imagine Israels "relationship" with America going sour over the long term. They see these little problems as problems with Obama and not with America. They may be right or they may be wrong. If Israel goes "hostile" on Obama they are taking a risk which is not something that Israel normally would choose to do. With Israels international credibility and good will having all but disappeared and still decreasing, this may not be the time to but the nations future over a temporary settlement freeze. Still, Israeli politicians want what they want and they want it now with no strings attached. This attitude has always worked for Israel. Maybe they are in for a change.
