When asked recently what issue keeps him awake at night, new security service chief replied that it’s the possibility of Hamas carrying out a large-scale surprise attack. It’s now his job to keep that from happening.06:46 12.02.16 | 0 comments
Self-reliance is indeed a virtue, to be admired and recommended, but an individual, ANY and EVERY individual, must learn how to co-exist, which means that we must find commonly acceptable norms against which to assess an appropriate structure and ethos for such co-existence. My point, therefore, is that no entity can, or indeed should, expect that the rest of humanity will always march to the dune oi his/her drummer. Israel has lots of reasons for legitimate complaint, vis-a-vis other third parties, - and you did indeed live among quite a few undesirable immediate neighbors, but you have a tendency to expect that the rest of the world still "owes" you because of the Holocaust, and it just won't wash any longer. Israel itself MUST, repeat, MUST make some progress of its own.
