Israel approaches these issues with a childlike simplicity. They use political expedience in place of moral sensibility. - Comment - Israel News | Haaretz Daily Newspaper

When relations between Israel and Turkey were warm, Israelis did not care a damn for the "Armenian genicide" or the Kurds. When they turned cold then the Israelis suddenly came to the conclusion that the Turks owed the Armenians an apology. The seemingly benign issue of an apology upset the Turks so much that Israel and Israel's surrogates pressed it for all it was worth. Sadly for Israel, the American congress opted out and refused to condemn the "Armenian genocide" . They also refused to criticize Turkey or Turkey's leaders in any way. Turkey was far too important an ally to sacrifice for the sake of Israeli game playing. In the end, France also decided that playing the stooge for Israel's silly vindictiveness has it's limits.
