Yael Patir, Israel director of the left-leaning U.S. Jewish body, sat down with Haaretz to talk about Trump, the gap between U.S. and Israeli Jews, and the growing anger at the Israeli peace camp. Though she concedes boycott efforts by some on the left have a negative effect, she rejects calls to keep peace efforts local.01:12 01.05.16 | 4 comments
That 'mishap' which reveals -again- a general underlying contempt for all 'the others' has been noticed -once again- for all those having eyes to see. Originates anti-semitism, anti-Israel, ant- Zionism, anti-muslim, anti-christian, anti this and anti thats really spontenuously only in the hearts of malicious people/gentiles? How painful to see Israel -with all its assets and merrits- choosing sliding down such a slippery slope. When the (still evitable or inevitable?) crash occurs, will there be space, beside the automatic blaming-choirs- for some honest and collective soul-searching? Let us hope Israel gets back to plan (and work)seriously restoring its damaged integrity. Cheap exercices in fabricating excuses while already intending to spin more wool much better next time may be thought to be a good move. However, (All) the 'others' sense such this manipulation... And the anti-this and anti-that feelings only increase.. A self-perpetuating cyle?
