Aznar is continuing the greatest tradition of Spanish history, the tradition of anti-fascist resistance. Israel today is in a position parallel to that of the Second Spanish Republic in 1936: an open democratic society in a region surrounded by dictatorships, besieged by fascism and its internal proxies (in Spain, these took the form of Franco and the Falange, which received military aid from Mussolini; in Israel they take they form of Iranian-funded Hamas). In 1937 when the Fascist armies besieged Madrid, the battle-cry of the defending Republican forces was: No Pasaran! "They shall not pass." This must be the message of Israel and its allies around the world to Hamas, Hizbollah and their neo-fascist ideologies.
