Israel doesn't want interference in its internal affairs. It wants money and donations from abroad but doesn't allow even its own citizens residing outside Israel to vote in national elections. Likewise any Israelis living abroad are denied the old-age pension allowance from the National Insurance Institute no matter how many years they contributed. Conversions done abroad go overwhelmingly unrecognized. In short, donations are welcome but nothing else. Indeed, Israel's policy is: "Israel knows best" so all Jews residing abroad, "Please mind your own business!"
