In the past they were usually of a different type. The worst were acts of folly or mistakes, not acts of blatant self-serving corruption. The scandal over the conduct of the Second Lebanon War was of the more traditional type. This latest odious offal is of the latter. It seems not a crisis of civilian vs military rule as a matter of careerism and personal animosity run wild. A moral crisis, not a constitutional one.
