This is a very tricky situation for Israel. On the one hand Israel and it s people are the people of the book. The people who accepted hashem' s rules and commandments of living life properly. Yet on the other hand they are surrounded by other peoples who want to not only kill them but wipe them off the face of the earth. Therefore everyone must understand that although peace is very preferred, never again will they be carried off to some foreign land and Israel destroyed. So while not everything their government does seems to be in the right direction, it is to a large degree the surrounding environment that is dictating what happens on the ground. Israel is a democracy surrounded by oil rich dictators who like things as they are except for Israel being in the middle of them. They are the ones who need to bend and the ones who need to give something much more than hate rhetoric and disdain for peoples not like themselves. When they change the middle east can change. They are the ones supporting all the violence in the world and all the hatred and violence towards tiny little Israel. When they really really want peace and do things in the name of peace there can be peace and we can all move towards more harmony and spiritual endeavors.
