most of the jews some of you guys are bemoaning as 'lost' through intermarriage have already been (de facto) 'lost' to judaism as such long before they come to the point when they marry out. or the marriage makes absolutely no impact /difference as to their adherence to judaism, which is more formal /just traditional than anything else. they don't become 'worse' jews (they might become 'better'). the pressure to keep any jewish person within the fold at any price, just for the sake of 'jewish continuity' must seem slightly hysterical & hypocritical to the outside world, & does to me too.
