If you try to look at this objectively, the one thing that seems blindingly obvious is that the iDF operation, for whatever reason, was appallingly bungled. Yet there seems to be almost no discussion of this allowed in Israel. It seems inconceivable that the operation would be mounted on the 100 per cent assumption there would be no resisstance whatsoever. How could anyone competently make that ssumption? British navy boarding parties boarding Jewish ships taking illegal immigrants into Palestine were always prepared for exactly this kind of resistance from passengers arming themselves with knives and bars. Which is why the only person in a Royal Navy boarding party allowed to carry a weapon was the officer, exactly so this kind of debacle didn't happen. In all the Jewish ships boarded by the Royal Navy, hardly anybody was killed. I think maybe 1 or 2, with maybe 1 Royal Navy sailor killed. Please publish this, because it's important.
