    Iron Dome will work fine against standard 155mm howitzers lobbing shells into a compound like the Green Zone in Iraq. How long does anybody think that insurgents will need to figure out how to modify the shells to overcome Iron Dome? Weeks? Months? Maybe they will keep lobbing shells if they get a kickback from the contractor who supplies the $50,000 missles to the suckers who buy them, but most likely they will add some weight to the shell to make them out of balance and have an eccentric trajectory. Artillery won't work for hamas in Gaza but they will beat Iron Dome because it will not be 100% effective and any doubt will still force all the good people of Sderot to run for the shelters. And what about the areas left without the protective umbrella of the Iron Dome? Whose town has priority? Maybe Hamas spies won't know which towns are protected if the IDF plays a shell game with the units until there are enough to cover everyone it may fool them a few times. Maybe they can deploy some dummy units but when you think about it, it has too many potential flaws to justify the enormous cost. It will soon take its place alongside the Bomb wand thing the police still use in Iraq that everyone knows doesn't work but a few officials made millions on.
