Jake T., I'm not 100% sure about Alexander, but I've studied the Mongol conquests of the middle ages and can tell you with great accuracy that the Mongols mopped the floor with Iran (not to mention the Chinese, Russia, Eastern Europe Arabs, and just about anyone with which they came into contact).
