undergo progressive change. There is no doubt that Israel has many blemishes and rough edges. There is no doubt that she engages in some inexcusable behaviour. Yet, when one looks at the history of the Jewish people and their experiences, it is instructive to see how Israel has not succumbed to total hatred, revenge, or isolation from the world. Iran and the arab nations have never undergone the experiences of the Jewish people and yet they cannot develop a modern, progressive nation state that is ruled, at least nominally, by the people. The relative failures of their societies is testimony to their failed leadership. If any nations of the Middle-East have been greedy and destined for the dust-bin of history, the Moslem states are way ahead of Israel, with all her faults.
